YDE Tuition Assistance Policy

There will be 3 types of Financial Assistance granted based on financial need:

• Tuition assistance in the form of a reduced tuition
• Combination tuition assistance and financial aid
• Interest-free loans (“financial aid”)

The following conditions apply to all applicants for Tuition Assistance:

• There will be no form of Tuition Assistance for Early Childhood students. Only Kindergarten and up are eligible.
• Applications will only be considered when the per-child registration fee has been paid and all prior year commitments have been satisfied.
• For current YDE families: applications will only be considered from families who have applied to UCEF for 2023-24 school year (if eligible). See below for application link.
• Assistance will be based on need as determined by a third-party firm which will review your application and request for assistance.
• The maximum amount of tuition assistance for any one student shall be no more than 50% of the tuition rate. No exceptions.
• All applications for assistance must be received by May 2, 2024. Any applications received after May 2^nd will not be considered.
• All applications must be received complete. Any application missing information will be rejected.
• In addition to the TADS application, all families requesting assistance must complete the YDE Tuition Assistance Application Addendum form. See below for link.

Prior to completing the application, please submit signed registration forms by May 2, 2024. Registration should be completed online at https://www.ydeschool.org/registration, check off "We wish to apply for a scholarship" on the Enrollment Contract page.

Once you have submitted your enrollment contract with registration fee as outlined above, please click on the Tuition Assistance application link at the bottom of this page. All Tuition Assistance applications must be submitted online and completed no later than May 2, 2024.

A third party professional Tuition Assistance firm called TADS (‘Tuition Assistance Data Services’) will be collecting, verifying, analyzing, and summarizing the data. Their service is essential, enabling us to review and perform a comprehensive and fair evaluation of all the submissions, thereby yielding impartial and equitable results.

At the bottom of this web page you will find a link to the online TADS application form. You will need to create a user ID and password. If you have done so in the past, your user account from last year can be utilized to apply again this year. You can use the User ID and Password to fill out the form over time in stages, and later on to see if your application was received and is under review.

You are required to submit the following documentation as part of the application process:

• Most recent IRS Form 1040
• Your most recent W2
• Your most recent paycheck stubs
• If you own a business, trust or receive rental income, you must also include: All pages of your most recent 1040 tax return, Most recent Form 1120, Form 1120S, Form 1065, or form 1041
• Photos of both parents
• YDE Supplemental Questionnaire

You may call the Customer Service team at TADS if you have questions when filling out the application. Their toll free phone number is: 1.800.477.8237. They are open from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM on weekdays.

Note: TADS collects a fee for this process. The cost this year is $45.00 per family. There is an additional $19.00 fee for those who own a business, as reviewing the additional tax documentation does require more services.

Please note the following:

• You should input all information you want YDE to be aware of. This online application will be your only method of relaying information to YDE.
• TADS professional auditors will review all submissions and verify against the forwarded supporting documents. Your submission will not be reviewed until all documents have been submitted. The auditors at TADS will call or email you if they have any questions about your application.
• The bottom line decision is not in the hands of TADS. TADS will provide to YDE various reports that will make it easier for us to come out with fair and equitable decisions. A specially selected discreet YDE subcommittee will work with TADS provided reports. They will review the reports, and discuss each application. Ultimately, this team will render the final decisions. The YDE Tuition Assistance subcommittee will not be having face to face meetings with the parents who are seeking tuition assistance.

• You shall keep any and all information in confidence, and will not disclose the outcome of your application with anyone whatsoever.
• Failure to maintain strict secrecy about your final tuition schedule shall be cause for compete forfeiture of the granted Tuition Assistance.
• In the event you fail to meet your Tuition Assistance agreed upon financial obligations, that you shall forfeit the right to any future Tuition Assistance, and that your child may be removed from YDE.
